Table Mountain Animal Center – is currently the second largest animal center in the Denver metro area – reunites lost pets with their owners and adopts homeless animals to loving homes.
• The mission of Table Mountain Animal Center is to provide the best C.A.R.E. possible for every animal that enters our doors. Community, Adopt, Reunite and Educate (C.A.R.E.) are the four key principles of Table Mountain Animal Center.
• Table Mountain Animal Center is currently a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services.
• More than 10,000 homeless animals enter our doors every year.
• Table Mountain Animal Center is an “open-admissions” shelter – that means Table Mountain Animal Center won’t turn away any animal in need.
• For these lost or abandoned animals in Jefferson County, Table Mountain Animal Center is their best chance to be reunited with their owners or placed into a loving home.
• Our adoption rate is exceptional and in 2008, exceeded the average of the seven largest animal shelters in the Denver-metro area.
• Educating our community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare is critical to our mission.
• Table Mountain Animal Center also works closely with your city’s animal welfare officers across Jefferson County to keep our neighborhoods safe, educate the community and protect innocent animals.
A new facility is coming soon!
Construction of a new Animal C.A.R.E. Center broke ground on June 30th of this year.
• The new Foothills Animal Shelter is being built on 3 acres of land at 6th Avenue near Colorado Mills Mall on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. At 30,000 square feet, the facility will be more than double the size of the existing building.
• The new facility will allow the organization to significantly improve current services.
• New medical facilities will allow the shelter to provide more on-site, cost-effective medical care and increase the number of spays and neuters and vaccinations.
• Only with ongoing private support, can the organization offer the expanded humane education and animal welfare programming necessary for a true community-based Animal C.A.R.E. Center.
The new Foothills Animal Shelter will increase animal adoptions and community involvement. Your support will help ensure every animal entering our doors will get the best chance at a better life.
• Your support is needed to fund the new $9.7 million public/private Animal C.A.R.E. Center.
• Table Mountain Animal Center Foundation, in concert with the community, is seeking $3 million to complete the adoption center and educational components as well as establish an endowment for ongoing operations.
• Jefferson County has fully committed to this project by providing $3 million from a Jefferson County General Fund.
• Every citizen can make a difference by licensing their dog through the county-wide dog licensing program, which will account for an additional $5.2 million.
• Table Mountain Animal Center Foundation will be a good steward of your investment. With the help of architects and designers who are experienced at building animal centers, our new facility will be a cost-efficient and environmentally conscious to save money over time and ensure every dollar is invested wisely.
• The bottom line: Our community deserves better, and so do the animals. Please help.
