In July of 2007 the cities of Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Westminster (Includes the residents of both Jefferson and Adams County) and unincorporated Jefferson County implemented a Dog Licensing Program. A dog license is mandatory in these jurisdictions. For any city or town in Jefferson County not listed above, dog licensing is voluntary. Effective September 2008 all dog licensing proceeds will go to a capital building fund to help build a new Table Mountain Animal Center!
